NRASTC National Rescue Test for Teachers and Swim Coaches (NRASTC)

What will this qualification enable me to do?

The NRASTC is a supervision and rescue qualification for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as a swimming lesson. It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools, including pools where the water is deeper than the teacher’s standing depth.

What skills do I need to apply?

  • As a teacher swimming pool and class management
  • Intervention rescue and emergency action – able to reach the bottom on the pool that you work at to retrieve a manikin.
  • CPR and first aid

Once you have completed your NRASTC National Rescue Test for Teachers and Swim Coaches (NRASTC) 6th edition you are able to teach and be the lifesaver for your own lessons that you are teaching. This qualification needs to be renewed every two years.
